It's a challenge for the Australian squad to break new ground.

The top summits have already been conquered.

We're talking about the squad that has claimed seven Cricket World Cups, in addition to six more T20 titles, and once went over three years undefeated in 50-over cricket.

The alternative records, those for the peak baggers, are the only things left for a team that has accomplished all there is.

That it took as late as Sunday's victory by three wickets over India for them to achieve their initial ODI chase exceeding 300, regaining their record for the biggest in women's cricket's 50-over format, is, honestly, a tribute to the bowlers that have represented Australia over the past 50 years.

It's difficult for their hitters to maintain a record if not afforded the opportunity.

Finally, the consequence of Australia conceding 330 was captain Alyssa Healy being given a platform to deliver her latest masterpiece.

Whether this newest brilliant performance surpassed that earlier display remains open for discussion.

Some will argue the case for championship match pressure. Some might respond with the difficulty that comes when pursuing an unprecedented total and an enthusiastic Indian fanbase of 20,000.

What is certain is this hundred was much more difficult to see coming.

The New Zealand onslaught in 2022 happened while she led the batting statistics, but this innings came after six matches in India from the beginning of the previous month in which she had not exceeded 30 runs.

"For those following me in the nets, it has been a challenging time because I feel like my form was missing at all," commented Healy.

"But once you take the field, your fighting spirit take over and you simply focus on the match."

Healy's competitiveness has always been her key asset - and an irreplaceable characteristic in taking over from famous previous leader Meg Lanning.

She was troubled by India's emerging talent Kranti Gaud in recent ODI series, fallen to the young fast bowler in all three matches, but on this occasion it simply offered Healy's motivation.

One run resulted off the bowler's initial ball and from that point the batsman was on her way.

"The possibility to take the field and engage in competition with her and merely enjoy the moment in that regard, somewhat inspired me," commented Healy.

She achieved fifty in 35 balls - her fastest at the World Cup - and her hundred in 84 balls as she flogged anything short, hitting 21 fours and three big hits.

Once she was dismissed her side needed 66 more at run per delivery - an achievable target now demanding an easy conclusion.

"Chasing 330 runs is new territory so I am glad we have the confidence to achieve that now," stated Healy further.

"Preferably we shouldn't have to do it another time but, should it happen, we are confident we can achieve it."

That comment will be the ultimate thing rival teams at this championship should hear.

During the last week a sense they will succeed regardless of circumstances has only strengthened - this victory following victory over Pakistan by 107-run victory despite sitting at 76-7 at one point.

Next Australia play Bangladesh before a match against traditional opponents England in Indore in 10 days, by which point a last-four spot may probably be guaranteed.
